Proposed Parish Family:

The proposed family grouping from the Archdiocese is to combine St. Joseph  Catholic Church (Lynden), and St. Peter Mission (Deming), with St. Joseph Catholic Church (Ferndale), St. Anne Mission (Blaine), St. Joachim Mission (Lummi). This will be the North Whatcom Parish Family, with one Parochial Vicar and one Pastor to serve this community. In this proposal no churches will be closed. Overtime through under the leadership of the Pastor, the Parish family will determine how to share resources.

Input Sessions:
The Diocese wants to know how YOU feel about these proposed groupings. We will be having input sessions on the following dates and want to ensure that everyone has their voice heard:

October 7th: 7pm-8pm (St. Joseph) and 8-9pm (St. Joseph—Spanish)
October 8th: 9:30-10:30am-(St. Peter), 12-1:00pm (St. Joseph)
October 11th: 10-11:am (St. Peter), 7-8pm (St. Joseph—Spanish )
October 12th, 10-11:am (St. Joseph)
October 13th, 10-11am (St. Joseph)

For those who are unable to attend these sessions or want to provide additional input please email information to: partners@seattlearch.org
We strongly encourage you to attend these in person sessions as the Diocese wants to hear from you. All input sessions will have note takers who will be taking verbatim notes, which will be submitted to the diocese.

Timeline:
After listening sessions are held, verbatim notes will be sent to the Archdiocese of Seattle for their consideration as Archbishop Etienne discerns the final decision. Parish families with revisions will be announced early 2024, with families forming July 1st. During this period of three years, the new parish family will work out how they can best serve the needs of their new Parish and diverse community.
